Physical monitor proof on Intel Core Ultra 7 265K + ASUS B860M MAX GAMING AX + RTX 5070
Modern gaming motherboards like the ASUS B860M MAX GAMING AX omit both legacy 0xB8000 text-mode video adapters and legacy 16550 UART COM1 serial ports (0x3F8). Early kernel prints directed to those legacy addresses disappeared into unmapped address space.
The solution was a freestanding 10 KB PE32+ UEFI application (KELLBANNER.EFI) compiled with zero Windows runtime dependencies, querying the EFI GOP protocol and writing directly into the GPU linear pixel buffer.
